How to create an invoice
A clear invoice has four parts: who is billing (your business name and contact), who is being billed (your client), the invoice details (a unique number, the issue date, and a due date), and the line items — one row per product or service with a quantity and unit price.
The subtotal is the sum of every line item (quantity × price). If you charge tax, enter the rate and it is added on top: total = subtotal + subtotal × rate. How is the tax calculated?▾
Enter a tax rate as a percentage and it is applied to the subtotal (the sum of all line items). Tax = subtotal × rate, and the total is subtotal + tax. Leave the rate blank or at 0 for a tax-free invoice.
Can I add or remove line items?▾
Yes. Use “Add line item” for as many rows as you need, and remove any row with its delete button. Empty rows are ignored in the totals and on the PDF.
